Studio Visit FAQ
Are you open to the public?
Yes! Whether you’re looking for something for yourself or a gift for someone else, we have a gallery with lots of unique pieces. On weekdays we are open 9am-5pm and on weekends are generally open but times may vary, please call ahead to confirm. 610-469-9066
I called the studio, and no one answered, are you closed?
Not necessarily. We have a total of 4 artists that work at the studio and sometimes we are all hands on deck for a big piece or maybe someone had to run out to the hardware store. If you want to speak to someone directly, give us 10 minutes and try again. If it’s not urgent leave a message and we’ll get back to you or send us an email.
Can we watch you blow glass?
Yes! We do not blow every day, but you are more than welcome to watch us if we are.
How do I know if you’re blowing glass?
Feel free to give us a call before coming out if you want to watch something be made. We generally know our week’s schedule on Monday.
Do you just blow glass at your studio?
No! We blow, cast and fuse glass along with doing all our own metal work and the electrical assembly for our lighting.
Do you offer tours?
No. We do not offer scheduled tours, but you are always welcome to come in and we are generally available to answer questions and discuss what we do.
Do you teach glassblowing classes?
Yes! Visit the Glassblowing Class Page here to see our current schedule and sign up for a class or for even more info visit the Class FAQ here.
Do you rent studio time?
No. We normally have a very full schedule between our production, classes, and charging the furnace. There are several locations nearby that rent time and we would be more than happy to help you get in contact with them.
Lighting FAQ
I’m interested in a light fixture, where do I start?
Come on by and we will be happy to help you. We do suggest calling ahead to make sure someone will have time to talk with you. Bring along any useful measurements of the area/previous fixture/space you want to fill, photos of the area, and color samples of anything you are trying to match. We have lots of shades on hand for examples.
I don’t like any of the colors I see on your color chart, can you make a custom color?
Yes! Our color chart is a collection of our most popular and standard colors and makes it easy for us to wholesale our work, but it is not the only colors we can make. Anything can be tweaked, or we can start from scratch making a new color pattern.
Can I leave with a light fixture the same day I come to the studio?
Most likely not. We do try to keep several table lamps in our store that are ready to go but most pieces involve some work. We have lots of glass shades on our shelves and you may be able to find one you like but we may still have to assemble the electrical parts etc.
I love your chandeliers; how do I purchase one?
All our chandeliers are custom designed for the person/space that they will go to. If you would like to discuss getting one designed for you, give us a call or email us. We will want to know a size estimate, any references to things you have seen and liked, and a budget to get started.
I broke a glass shade but still really like my fixture, can you make a replacement piece for me?
Maybe. Start off by emailing us pictures of the fixture, how the glass attaches, and any pieces that still exist. We can normally get an idea if something is plausible that way and then we will ask you to bring the piece in and we can discuss the project further.
I have an idea for something I’ve never seen available for purchase; can you make it for me?
Maybe. We are always open to new ideas and trying something out. Email us pictures or call ahead to set up a time to come in and discuss your idea with us and we’ll see what we can create together.
Miscellaneous FAQ
Can I buy your glass online?
Yes and no. We do not have a full e-commerce site at this time, but you do not have to visit us to make a purchase. If you see something you like on the website please email or call us and we’ll be happy to help you out. We will also have a variety of back-room stock, custom items, odds-and-ends, and more available here.
Can I see your glass in person if I don’t live nearby?
Maybe! We wholesale our glass in various locations all across the United States. Check out our map to see if there is a gallery near you.
I’m getting married and want to do something unique at my ceremony, do you have any options?
Yes! We offer a Unity Ceremony Kit where we mail you 2+ colors of glass chips, you mix them at your wedding and then mail them back, and we create a unique keepsake item from your mixed colors. We mostly sell our kit through our website on the “shop” page, or we can work out pricing and pick-up/drop-off if you’re local.
Do you make memorial pieces with a loved one’s ashes?
Yes. We have a collection of items that we have made for customers that we can show you. We are also open to discussing other ideas you may have.
I broke a piece of glass; can you fix it?
Maybe. We can repair some broken pieces but there are lots of variables that can affect this answer. The best way to start with a broken piece is to email us photos of the piece and we’ll go from there.
Will you take my old glass and recycle it?
No. There are many different types of glass and they don’t like to work together.
Can I purchase your broken glass for mosaics?
Maybe. We don’t always have a lot of scrap glass on hand so give us a call first.
Can you cut/drill a glass piece for my craft project I’m working on?
Maybe. As we said before, there are many different types of glass and they react differently to certain processes. Give us a call or email to discuss your project and remember even if we agree to work on something for you there is always a chance that your glass might break.
