Glass Blowing Class FAQ
When are Glass Blowing classes offered?
Classes are offered throughout the year on Wednesdays & Thursdays starting at 4 pm and on weekends depending on availability. We take a Summer break from the end of June till about mid-September, weather dependant.
How large are classes?
Classes are booked by individual groups.
What time are classes and how long do they last?
Class times vary depending on the type of class.
Do I need any previous glass experience?
Nope! Beginners and Advanced are all welcome. We work with each student individually so no matter your level we have you covered.
How are classes run?
The class starts out with a brief discussion of equipment, tools, and safety, and then students work one-on-one with an instructor. Students may also be asked to assist other students throughout the class.
What can I make during a class?
Depending upon the class you might make a cup, bowl, vase, paperweight, etc. We have a wide variety of colors for you to use too!
What should I wear/bring to a class?
Students should dress in comfortable, natural fiber clothing (cotton, wool, jeans) and closed-toe shoes. Long sleeves are highly suggested but can be something you take on and off like a flannel. Long hair should be tied back. Sunglasses/safety glasses may be worn. Bring along a water bottle, too, we have a water cooler.
Do I get to keep what I make?
Everything you make is yours to keep, however, glass pieces must remain in our annealing oven to slowly cool down to room temperature for 48 hours before they may be picked up. Remember, glass does break. In the unfortunate event, that one of your pieces may crack we will do our best to supply a replacement piece/experience.
Shipping is available for an additional cost and can be arranged on the day of your class.
Are there any age restrictions?
All classes have limited age ranges that can be seen below or on our class page. Exceptions may be made for younger students but they must obtain pre-authorization to join a class. We have several types of classes suited for the younger age range, though.
