When are classes offered?

Classes are offered in the Fall through Spring seasons on weekends, either Saturday or Sunday

depending on availability. You may see our schedule here.

How large are classes?

A typical class size is 4-8 students.

What time are classes and how long do they last?

Classes are offered from 9am to 5pm. A lunch break is taken but lunch is not provided.

What does a typical class involve for a first timer?

For beginners, the day starts with an introduction to the equipment, procedures, and safety rules.

Students then rotate working one-on-one with the instructor. During the course of the day, each

student will have 3-4 opportunities to blow a piece. The first piece will be clear glass and the

instructor will take each student through all the basic steps to create a finished piece. In the

second piece, color will be introduced. Students may then choose what to work on for their third

piece. If enough time remains, a fourth piece may be blown.

What can I make?

Generally students create cups, vases, bowls and paperweights. During the holiday season,

Glasslight offers ornament classes. Please see below for more information.

What and when are ornament classes?

During the holiday season, Glasslight offers ornament classes. They are typically held in

November and December. During these classes students create on average between 8 and 12

Christmas balls. Students work in teams to learn the various aspects of creating an ornament.

Ornaments make lovely gifts though few people can bear to part with them!

Do I get to keep what I make? When can I take it home?

All blown pieces must remain in our annealing oven for 48 hours before they may be picked up.

For those who are traveling for the class, we can ship pieces, though the cost of shipping is not

included in the class price.

Are there any age restrictions?

Students under the age of 18 must obtain pre-authorization.

How much do classes cost?

Regular classes cost $190 per day. Ornament classes are $200 per day.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?

Yes, they are available to pick -up at the studio or we can mail them.
